Spiritual guru and Art of Living (AoL) founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar met Maulana Salman Nadvi, the ex-member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) who was expelled from the board after his remarks over the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid issue.
Sri Sri said that both he and Nadvi discussed the Ram Temple issue and stressed on ‘harmonius co-existence of both communities’.
The spiritual guru said that problems occur while something good is in the notes. He said, “When we do something good, then occurrence of problems is inevitable, but I will not deter and will keep on doing the good work. We have good relations with everyone.”
He said, “Have been getting good responses from every side, we are talking about harmonious co-existence of both communities & construction of grand Ram Temple. There is a lot of goodwill & cooperation from Muslim community.”

The Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute is a century old issue between the Hindus and the Muslims over a piece of land in Ayodhya which was claimed as the birthplace of Lord Ram by the Hindus and entitled it for the construction of a Ram Temple, while the Muslims claimed that demolishing the already built Babri Masjid on the same site would be incorrect.

However, on December 6, 1992, the Hindu Karsevaks in Ayodhya, demolished the Babri Masjid, resulting in massive riots across the country. A case about the incident is pending in the Supreme Court since then.
On Thursday, a three-judge Supreme Court bench fixed March 14 as the next date of hearing in the case as some of the documents and translations were yet to be filed before the court.
Sri Sri has met over 500 leaders from different Muslim and Hindu communities in the recent months to negotiate about the Ram Mandir. On February 11, the AIMPLB, the apex body of Muslim community in India rejected Nadvi’s proposal of supporting the construction of the Ram Temple at the ‘disputed’ site.
