Mohan Bhagwat is the chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

New Delhi:

The aim of RSS, Hindu hardline organisation and ideological mentor of the ruling BJP, is to organise the entire Indian society and not just Hindus to, its chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Saturday. Addressing a group of intellectuals in Bhubaneswar, the RSS Sarsanghchalak said that the right approach is to prepare the best person who can play an important role in changing the society and transform the country as it will not be possible to change the 130 crore people in it.

Laying emphasis on bringing the change in the Indian society in order to change the fate of the country, Bhagwat said that it is necessary to prepare the best person - someone with a clean character and capable of taking the lead "in every street and town".

The RSS cheif, who is on a nine-day Odisha visit, said that the society is more significant than individuals and creating proper conditions is important to pave the way for nation-building.During the visit, he will attend the maiden meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal in Odisha, along with Bhayaji Joshi, the second in command in the RSS, sources in it said.

During his Vijayadashmi speech at RSS headquarters in Nagpur last week, Bhagwat had said that only people with vested interests were against a strong and vibrant India. "A developed Bharat creates fear in the minds of vested interests. Only people with vested interests don't want Bharat to be strong and vibrant....," he had said.

He had also sought to eject the perception, sparked by recent incidents of mob violence, that the 'Hindu Rashtra' is synonymous with a majoritarian and authoritarian agenda. He said that the RSS was committed to the “limits of the Constitution”, multiculturalism and social harmony and he distanced the organisation from the aggressively rising anti-minority behaviour of groups led by miscreants claiming Sangh affiliations.
