New Delhi:

Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Thursday hinted at investigation against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and his aide Amit Shah in Bangalore woman snooping row.

Talking to reporters, Shinde said, "Centre will probe the entire incident if any evidence is found against those responsible." He indicated that security agencies were collecting information on the whole issue and if required a probe could be ordered.

Earlier, Congress leaders Girija Vyas and Jayanthi Natrajan on Sunday raised questions about women's privacy and safety and demanded an independent probe by Supreme Court into the entire snooping incident.

The former minister of state for home Amit Shah was on Friday accused of misusing his powers and police machinery for illegal surveillance of a young woman in 2009.
