Supreme Court 'Supreme' but not 'infallible': Asaduddin Owaisi on Ayodhya verdict

New Delhi:

Asaduddin Owaisi, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief and Hyderabad lawmaker, said that he was not satisfied with the Supreme Court’s Ayodhya verdict. In a sharp reaction on the entire proceedings, Owaisi said that, “Supreme Court ‘Supreme’ but not ‘infallible’.” On the 5 acre land allotted to Muslims at an alternate site, Owaisi said that the matter was never about the land but about the legal rights of the Muslims. Faith has won over facts, Owaisi said. “Supreme Court is indeed supreme but not infallible. We have full faith in the constitution, we were fighting for our right, we don't need 5 acre land as donation. We should reject this 5 acre land offer, don't patronise us,” he added. “There are several other mosques in this country over which 'Sanghis' have laid claim. Now we are wondering if they will cite this judgment in those cases too,” Owaisi said. He further said those who had demolised Babri Masjid have been asked to form a trust and start construction of a Ram Temple, hinting at the ruling BJP at the Centre.
