Hyderabad:
The death toll due to swine flu in Telangana stands at 73 till date since January while the number of positive cases is 2075.
“In the current year from January 1 till March 16, 6,415 samples have been tested, out of which 2,075 are found to be positive. The number of deaths because of swine flu and other complications is 73 as on date,” as per a bulletin on swine flu issued by the state government here today.
According to it, 103 samples were sent for testing yesterday and 23 out of them tested positive for the virus.
“The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (up to March 16) is 41, 46, 37, 45, 56 and 23,” it said.
The government has advised citizens to take precautions such as reporting to hospital on appearance of early symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain.
Sufficient stock of medicines and ample testing kits are available at different hospitals in the state, it said.
