New Delhi:

In a bizarre incident, a conductor working with the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) was issued a memorandum earlier this week for allowing a pigeon to sit on the windows of a bus without ticket.

The pigeon was giving a company to a drunken passenger, the Times of India reported. It is the only government bus connecting Harur town and Ellavadi in the state of Tamil Nadu. It was carrying around 80 passengers on Thursday when the incident happened.

The bus was then stopped by the transport department officers to check tickets of the passengers. One of the officers noticed the pigeon sitting on the bus windows and asked the conductor whether it had a ticket.

After knowing the pigeon was travelling ticketless, the officers issued memorandum to the conductor and said that the tickets are also compulsory for the animals.

"Inspectors submit memos on Mondays. We will take appropriate action if any rule was broken,” TOI quoted a senior TNSTC official in the Salem division as saying.
