Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalling the 9/11 terror attack on Wednesday said terrorism now is deep rooted in Pakistan. Speaking at "Swacchata Hi Seva" programme PM Modi said, "Now terrorism has become an ideology which is not confined to the boundary of any nation. This is a global problem and has become a global threat whose deep roots are situated in our neighbouring country and are flourishing there.”
"The whole world needs to take a pledge and stand up against those who give shelter and training to the terrorist. India is very much capable of tackling the menace on its own. We have shown this in past and will continue to do so in future," news agency ANI quoted PM Modi as saying.
PM Modi is on a day’s visit to this Uttar Pradesh town where he launched the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) for eradicating foot and mouth disease (FMD) and brucellosis in livestock.
With 100 per cent funding from the Central government till 2024, the Rs 12,652 crore programme aims at vaccinating over 500 million livestock including cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats and pigs against the FMD.
The programme also aims at vaccinating 36 million female bovine calves annually in its fight against Brucellosis disease.
On Monday at a United Nations conference, the Prime Minister had said, "My government has announced that India would put an end to single-use plastics in the coming years. We are committed to the development of environment-friendly substitutes and also an efficient plastic collection and disposal method."
