New Delhi:

The desperate attempt to rescue a three-year-old girl, who slipped and fell into 100 feet deep borewell shaft, has become successful on Wednesday. Post that, the girl was admitted to Sadar hospital in Munger and is currently undergoing medical treatment.

"Bihar: 3-year-old girl, who was stuck in 110 feet deep borewell in Munger since yesterday has been rescued,” the news agency ANI reported.

The child, identified as Sanno came to her maternal grandparents’ home in Murgiyachak locality of the town. On Tuesday she was playing near the borewell shaft in the courtyard of the house and accidentally fell into it.

According to Munger Superintendent of Police Gaurav Mangla, the girl was stuck inside the shaft at a depth of about 45 feet and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was rushed to the spot as soon as the report came in.

Earlier, the rescue team had managed to lower in an oxygen pipe to ensure the supply of fresh air to the innocent. Sanno has also been provided food items and responded to the phone calls by her parents.

"A team of doctors was pressed into service and adequate oxygen supply is being ensured with the help of cylinders and pipes," Mangla said.

A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also joined hands with SDRF to help in the rescue operation.
