BJP today appointed Gujarat BJP chief Vijay Rupani as the new chief minister of the state. At least 13 persons were killed and several others injured, many of them critically, when heavily armed militants opened fire in a crowded market place in Kokrajhar. The minimum wages for working class will be increased from 30 to 40 per cent across all sectors in the national capital, Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai said today. 1. Vijay Rupani named new Gujarat Chief Minister, Nitin Patel will be Deputy CM

Gujarat BJP chief Vijay Rupani will be the new chief minister of the state. Nitin Patel, who was considered No. 2 in the outgoing Anandiben Patel government, will be the deputy chief minister of Gujarat. The decision was taken by the BJP MLAs in a meeting on Friday in the presence of party chief Amit Shah and senior leader Nitin Gadkari as observers.

2. Heavily armed militants opened fire in Assam's Kokrajhar, 13 killed, several injured

At least 13 persons were killed and several others injured, many of them critically, when heavily armed militants opened fire in a crowded market place, about 12 kms from here, today.Police said a group of militants swooped down on Tiniali market this afternoon and opened fire in the marketplace killing two and injuring several others before fleeing.

4. Delhi Govt to raise minimum wages from 30 to 40 per cent 

The minimum wages for working class will be increased from 30 to 40 per cent across all sectors in the national capital, Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai said today. Addressing a press conference here, Rai said a 13-member advisory committee, which was constituted by the Labour Department in April to revise minimum wages in Delhi, will submit its report in next few days and subsequently the decision on fixing minimum wages for all working class - unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled will be taken.
