Heavy fog in North India: Trains, flights affected; 1 dead in Yamuna Expressway accident

For Second Day In A Row, North India Including Delhi-NCR Is Witnessing Thick Fog Cover. The Thick Blanket Of Fog Has Hugely Affected Trains And Flights Operations.

For second day in a row, North India including Delhi-NCR is witnessing thick fog cover. The thick blanket of fog has hugely affected trains and flights operations. Operations at the Delhi Airport has been resumed after temporary suspension as dense fog brought the visibility very low.  5 flights have been diverted so far, and some have been delayed.

Several trains have also been rescheduled from Delhi area stations including New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. As per Northern Railways, at present 50 trains are running late due to dense fog.

The trains which have been rescheduled include Lichhchhavi Express, West Bengal Sampark Kranti, Brahmputra Mail, Poorvotter Sampark Kranti, North-East Express, Mahananda Express, Shan-e-Punjab Express, Kalka Shatabdi Express, Lucknow Shatabdi Express, Puri Express and Taj Express. 

As per another report, at least 12 vehicles crashed into each other due to dense fog at Yamuna Expressway. The accident has caused one death and injuries to ten others.

In another incident, a truck collided with auto rickshaw in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh due to dense fog. The accident led to 2 deaths and injuries to six people.
