Two new trains to be flagged off from Kurnool today

Union Minister of State for Railways K Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy would flag off two new trains at the Kurnool City Railway Station on Tuesday.     

The two trains are Train No: 17224 Kurnool City-Secunderabad Inter-City Express (daily) and Train No.77696 Kurnool City- Nandyal DEMU Passenger (five days in a week).       

Trains were announced in the Rail Budget 2013, the South Central Railway said here today in a release. The Inter-City express (Train No. 17223) would depart Secunderabad at 1645 hours and reach Kurnool at 2135 hours on the same day.

On return, Train No. 17224 would depart from Kurnool City at 0605 hours and arrive at Secunderabad at 1045 hours. These trains will have 18 Coaches -- 14 General Second Class, one AC Chair Car, one Pantry Car and two General Second Class cum Brake Van Coaches.

Meanwhile, SCR said in another release that the existing name of Kurnool Town Railway Station, situated between Alampur Road and Kotla Railway Stations on Dhone-Secunderabad section of Hyderabad Division/South Central Railway is changed as Kurnool City Railway Station with immediate effect.
