Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Tuesday killed a suspected terrorist in Thakurganj area of Lucknow. Encounter between UP ATS and terrorist ended in Lucknow.

There is a continuous firing from the side of terrorist at security forces in Thakurganj area of Lucknow. The UP ATS got special inputs about suspected terrorist in Lucknow. A team had been sent to Thakurganj to nab the terrorist. The name of terrorist is said to be Saifullah.

According to an uncomfirmed report, Saifullah may have some links with terrorist group ISIS. However, the ADG of Uttar Pradesh Police has not given any information about Saifullah's possible links with the ISIS in his press conference in Lucknow on Tuesday. 

The suspect confined himself in a room and was having loaded pistol. The ATS is approaching the case with all the caution. Teargas had been used in order to nab the terrorist.

The firing had created chaos in the Thakurganj area. As per the information, firing started from the side of suspect. The ADG, Law and Order, Daljit Chawdhary said that operation is currently underway.

The IG of ATS, Aseem Arun has also reached the spot. The ADG Daljit Chowdhary is also at the spot. However, the suspected terrorist's organisation is not clear at the moment. But, it is reported that the terrorist belonged to Madhya Pradesh.

On Thursday, election is scheduled on 40 seats in seven districts in Uttar Pradesh. Election Commission is also keeping a vigil on the developments. Instructions have been put out to arrange stricter security in the state.
