Goa:
Adding to the woes of BJP government in Goa, who is already battling against anti-incumbency factor and corruption charges, the Goa church Council for Social Justice and Peace (CSJP) have issued guidelines for voters ahead of assembly elections to shun powers in the country that are choking secularism, informed Father Savio Fernandes, Executive Secretary -CSJP. He further said that the demonetisation is against the poor.
The guideline also talks about various policies that are said to bring development. The guidelines read," To bring business to select private business interests being promoted through government policies under the pretext of fostering economic growth, tackling corruption and ensuring transparency through digitalisation, are a disturbing development."
"Citizens have to be aware of the reality that any oppressive, discriminatory and destructive legislations and policies proposed at the national level require the collaboration of State Governments for enactment and their cooperation for implementation. One cannot be blind to the larger thrust that is being placed in recent times, at the national level, to undo the Sovereign, Socialist, Secular and Democratic fabric of our nation as enshrined in our Constitution," mentioned the guideline.
The guidelinesfurther criticised the government for interfering with the judiciary and financial institutions in the country.
