Wikipedia names Sachin Pilot as 14th Chief Minister of Rajasthan

New Delhi :

Wikipedia often gets it wrong and the latest example is its description about Congress leader Sachin Pilot. While the counting of votes in 199 of the 200 Assembly constituencies in Rajasthan was still underway, the Wikipedia page of Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot named him as the 14th Chief Minister of Rajasthan. As per the late afternoon trends, the Congress party was leading in 102 seats, and Pilot won from Tonk. Although Pilot is one of the contenders for the top job, he was not yet the chief minister.

The Congress party is in a dilemma on the name of chief minister, apart from Pilot, former chief minister and party national general secretary Ashok Gehlot is also in the race for the top job in the state.

Reacting to the Congress’ lead in the party, Pilot said that he was confident as final numbers will come in their favour. On the question of CM candidate, Pilot said that the central leadership and MLAs will decide who will play what role.

“We are moving towards a full majority and I am sure it will be clear once final numbers are in, but still we welcome all like-minded and anti-BJP parties to support us and we are in touch,” Pilot said in a press conference in Jaipur.

Earlier in the day, Gehlot had said that the candidate for the CM job will be chosen by the central leadership. he Rajasthan Congress is reportedly divided between two factions - loyalists of Gehlot and Pilot.
