The exact moment when the GoAir flight made an emergency takeoff has surface online and it is extremely scary to say the least. Shared by the onboard passenger, the small clip shows the window view of the takeoff. While the veering off in the grass is not visible, the loud thrusts can be heard clearly highlighting at the rough takeoff. Shafeeq Hamza, the Go Air Flyer, recorded the clip on his mobile. Talking to News Nation, Hamza said that, “the pilot saved us by taking off and ultimately landing in Hyderabad.”

 

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday ordered an inquiry after a GoAir aircraft with 180 passengers on board was forced to execute dangerous take-off after a failed landing attempt at Bengaluru International Airport. According to reports, the plane had veered off the runway onto a grass-covered strip on one side of the runway. At this point, the pilot of the A320 aircraft increased the speed and fortunately managed to take off.

The plane then went towards Hyderabad, its diversionary airport, and landed safely. Following, the incident, the DGCA ordered an inquiry and the entire crew of the flight G8-811 has been grounded. The pilot has been suspended.

The incident took place at around on November 11 because of bad weather. The flight was given a go-ahead for landing on runway 09 at round 7:22 am amid low visibility. It is yet not clear that the incident took place because of bad weather or the pilot’s mistake.

“On Monday 11th November 2019, GoAir flight G8 811 from Nagpur to Bengaluru had carried out go around at Bengaluru and diverted to Hyderabad. All the passengers, crew and aircraft landed safely at Hyderabad. This reportable incident was reported immediately to the DGCA – the industry regulator. Pending the investigation by GoAir and the regulator, the flight crew have been kept off flying duty. Safety of our passengers and crew is of paramount importance to GoAir and the airline is committed to all aspects of safety,” GoAir said in a statement.
