New Delhi :
The Italian designers of D&G have again set in motion a social media firestorm after they put out a shoe emblazoned with multicoloured patterns, pompoms were named the ‘Slave Sandal’ on its website.
These Slave Sandals in Napa Leather became available for pre-order on the fashion brand’s website, for £1,350, as part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
Soon after the backlash from all corners, Dolce & Gabbana has renamed the shoes ‘decorative flat sandals’ on its online store.
Though this is not for the first time when the fashion brand has come under fire for its inflammatory comments but in the past it had shown ads showing ‘simulated gang rape’, and for the designers’ controversial views. Last year, the Italian pair criticised same sex families and called IVF babies ‘synthetic‘.
