India's 25 designers to present finale of AIFW autumn-winter

To pay an ode to the “crafts of India”, 25 top designers of the country have teamed up to present the grand finale of the upcoming Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) autumn-winter 2015, which is celebrating its silver jubilee in the latest edition.

The finale of five-day extravaganza, commencing from March 25 at Pragati Maidan, will see designers like Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, Rohit Bal, JJ Valaya, Raghavendra Rathore, Wendell Rodricks, Suneet Varma, Ritu Kumar, Tarun Tahiliani among others presenting their two ensembles inspired by the rich crafts of India in tones of red, orange and pink.

“This is the 25th season of the India Fashion Week. What better way to celebrate this momentous occasion and create history by getting 25 designers on the same stage for the Grand Finale.

“This is great concept from Amazon India and the resulting execution of the idea will present an unique experience that will set new benchmarks for such events in the future,” said Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI.

The Grand Finale on March 29 will be streamed live on the Amazon India Fashion Week page, giving an opportunity to consumers across India to watch the show and participate in the celebrations.

“When 25 of India’s most talented and creative minds collaborate together towards a single purpose, it can only result in something spectacularly innovative and creative a true homage to Indian craftsmanship and a befitting culmination to the Amazon India Fashion Week,” said Vikas Purohit, Head Fashion, Amazon India.
