Busan:
India’s 21-year-old Srishti Rana has made the country proud as she has won the crown of Miss Asia Pacific 2013 at the beauty pageant held in Busan in South Korea on Wednesday.
Himangini Singh Yadu, an Indian, had won this coveted title last year. Shrishti outclassed 49 other contestants from different countries in the Asia Pacific region.
The best national costume award was also claimed by Shrishti, who wore an outfit depicting Peacock – the national bird of India.
A second runner-up in the Miss India contest, Shrishti hails from Faridabad in Haryana. In 2000, Bollywood diva Dia Mirza had won the Miss Asia Pacific title.
"This is a dream come true! I am very proud of myself right now and still can't believe that I have won the crown. I have a long list of people to thank for their support but to name a few; I would want to thank God, my family, friends, Mr. Vineet Jain- MD Times Group and the Miss India Organization for their endless support. This wouldn't have been possible without any of them. I am so delighted at this moment," Srishti was quoted as saying.
