Karlie Kloss has finally revealed the truth as to why she left Victoria’s Secret in 2015. With hundreds of models vying over the particular runway and thousands of young girls looking up on the Angels, Victoria’s Secret’s despite, its embezzled name and fame hasn’t been without controversies particular over the recent years. As one of the most glamorous beauty line in the beauty world, to treat the runway with its most current pop stars and most coveted Hollywood A-listers and designers as the audience could only be a dream many women can only dream of, so, why did supermodel Karlie Kloss choose to walk away from the glossed beauty line in 2015?
Speaking to America’s Vogue magazine, Kloss who is among the most recognised face of Victoria’s Secret opens up about the reason as to why she choose to walk away. Telling the magazine that the beauty brand which boasts to be an inspiration for many Karlie said, ‘’The reason I decided to stop working with Victoria’s Secret was I didn’t feel it was an image that was truly reflective of who I am and the kind of message I want to send to young women around the world about what it means to be beautiful.
‘I think that was a pivotal moment in me stepping into my power as a feminist, being able to make my own choices and my own narrative, whether through the companies I choose to work with, or through the image I put out to the world.’
She admitted that she was fearful of losing her job, but realised that parting ways with the company allowed the star to exercise the power of her voice.
‘Only now do I have the confidence to stand tall – all 6ft 2in of me – and know the power of my voice,’ the megastar said.
Karlie who tied the knot with 34-year-old American businessman Josh Kushner last year is a successful entrepreneur. She was recently seen interning for Estée Lauder’s global research and development facility.
