A five-year-old boy from Indonesia scurried onto the clinic’s roof and refused to come down after his parents took him to be circumcised in Indonesia. According to the Daily Mail, the boy is reported to have climbed to the roof of the building where he stayed, refusing to climb down, for two hours on finding out that he will be circumcised.
Dr Anik Sutari, who shared the picture of the boy on the clinic’s roof on Facebook said she had never seen anything like it in all of her years of working in the city of Serang, capital of Banten province, on the Indonesian island of Java.
"Throughout my professional history, out of the 20 years I have been doing circumcisions and the thousands of children I have circumcised, this is the first time I've seen a child flee to the top of the roof," said Dr Sutari.
Reports also add that the doctor and the boy's parents were reluctant to follow the boy onto the roof for fear of him falling off that resulted to a two-hour negotiation until the boy’s parents contacted the boy's schoolteacher who is believed to share a good relationship with him.
"It's true... As soon as the teacher comes, with a little persuasion finally the child wants to come down’’ Dr Sutari said.
After a two-hour stint, the child, according to the doctor is said to have walked himself to the circumcision clinic even positioning himself for the procedure without being led or forced."
Dr Sutari further adds that the boy did not struggle, cry or even complain when she was finally able to circumcise him - three hours later than planned.
