Dengue fever is back with the monsoon season. As many as 50 dengue cases in Delhi have been reported this season. With continuous downpour, the risk of vector-borne diseases like dengue is bound to increase.

Dengue is the fastest growing mosquito-borne disease today, causing nearly 400 million infections every year, according to the World Health Organisation report.

But how do you treat dengue fever when you cannot make it to the hospital or visit a doctor. Try home remedies. In fact, some of the home remedies have been proven quite effective.

Papaya leaves to keep dengue fever at bay

Papaya leaf is one of the most common dengue home remedies in India.  Papaya leaf can prevent platelet destruction due to cell membrane rupture. The leaves can be crushed and consumed or drink the juice, which helps in flushing out the toxins.

Turmeric can help combat viral infections of dengue fever

Turmeric is used in treating various ailments. With the presence of curcumin, turmeric help in boosting your immunity, while its antiviral properties can help to combat the viral infections of dengue. You can consume turmeric along with milk.

Coriander leaves reduces your body temperature during dengue fever

Coriander leaves help in reducing the body temperature during dengue. Wash the coriander leaves and blend it. Drink this juice as many times as you can. Coriander leaves can also be included as part of the regular diet.
