Here’s why the ‘one meal each day’ Snake-diet is dangerous for your body

New Delhi:

People from all over the world are getting more conscious about what they eat and how they look. It’s a good sign that people are striving hard to lead a healthy lifestyle.

However, in the process of getting the perfect body, some of them have started adopting bizzare diet charts and methods.

Various fad diets which are popularised by Hollywood celebrities are gaining traction among the people. One such diet which is getting popular these days is snake diet.

Surprisingly, the diet finds its origins from a personal trainer’s experience. The founder Cole Robinson experimented the diets on himself and his clients and after getting positive results, he named it as snake diet. The idea behind naming it snake diet was because it resembled the eating pattern of a snake.

Snake diet follows the principle of fasting where one is only allowed to eat one meal in a day. The diet plan suggests that one should not consume food for the next 24 to 36 hours.

This clearly means that the one following the diet on Saturday won’t consume anything till Sunday morning, which is not so good for health. The snake diet plans sound dangerous and is even difficult to follow.

Health experts suggest that fasting for longer durations affects the body’s metabolism and is detrimental in the longer run.

After you are done with the diet and get back to the normal eating routine, there are chances you will gain weight again. One must keep in mind that starving the body is never going to help reduce weight.

Eating in the right proportion at regular intervals and indulging in physical activity should be the mantra to lead a healthy lifestyle.
