The following list of organic pesticides are inexpensive and organic methods that will help you do away with your bug problem:

  1. Salt spray: Fixing your bug-infested garden got a lot easier. To get rid of insects such as spider-mites, mix salt with warm water to form a salt spray then spray it on the infected areas. The salt will dehydrate the insects faster and prevent the eggs from hatching.
  2. Neem: Neem is one of the oldest insecticides/ pesticides that have been in use. Neem juice acts as a natural repellent interfering with the insect hormone systems, making it harder for insects to grow and lay eggs. Neem oil also kills insects by hindering their ability to feed.
  3. Eucalyptus oil: Eucalyptus oil is another great natural pesticide for flies, bees, and wasps. Simply sprinkle a few drops of eucalyptus oil where the insects are found. Flies and other insects are known to stay away from the smell of eucalyptus oil. Lemon eucalyptus, in particular, is thought to repel flies because it masks the carbon dioxide and lactic acid naturally emitted by humans.
  4. Citrus oil with cayenne pepper: Citrus oil mixed with cayenne pepper acts as a natural ant-repellent. The capsaicin found in pepper is known to be a natural, biochemical pesticide that kills insects.
  5. Onion and garlic spray: Onion and garlic are not just tasty ingredients but also make an excellent bug-repellent. The sulphur compounds in the onion and garlic keep bugs away by simply producing an odour they do not like. Mix minced onion and garlic with water to form a natural spray. Or you can simply choose to plant onion and garlic near the other plants to keep bugs at bay.
