New Delhi:

Street-style photography is more than just capturing the perfectly-timed and posed Brad Pitt with his coffee latte outside an Italian cafe. Street-style photography is an art, the rawest of fashion emotions captured at an unmediated chance encounters within public places. The fashion industry, in particular, that now sits atop any other industry, has a lot to credit street-style photography. Taking their skill to the roads, the street-style photographers have evolved as amiable, accessible entities to the sartorial pedestals, the so-called celebrity-style upon.

They have made possible an ‘oblivious persona’ walking down the street in a mismatched combo look cool. A young girl draping herself up in her boyfriend’ s over-sized blazer looks funky or even a wearisome man in his worn-out denim awaiting the green-light signal appears candidly fashionable.

Even after his demise in 2016, many of today’s street-style photographers talk about his direct influence on them. As Bill Cunningham, once famously said, “The best fashion show is on the street. Always has been. Always will be."
