Former Miss India Universe Simran Kaur Mundi is all set to tie the knot with Gurickk Maan, son of popular Punjabi singer, Gurdas Maan, on January 31 in Punjab’s Patiala, reports TOI. Simran has acted in films like Jo Hum Chahein (2011) and Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015).
A source close to the couple informed TOI, ''It will be a close-knit affair with just Simran and Gurickk’s families and close friends in attendance. They don’t want a grand wedding. In fact, they have been tight-lipped about their big day, as they don’t want any undue attention. They are currently busy with last-minute preparations for their big day. A reception will be hosted in Mumbai later, but the date is yet to be finalised.''
The two first met at a race in which Gurickk was one of the participants. They got engaged a few months ago. ''Theirs is quite a cute love story. They first met at a race in which Gurickk was one of the participants. However, he crashed in the first lap. He then went up to Simran and told her that he couldn’t concentrate on the race because of her, and asked her out. Simran found it cheesy, but gave in to his boyish charm and the rest is history. They are extremely compatible and comfortable with each other,'' the source added.
Simran was spotted for Miss India while she was working at a city multiplex. Talking about the same, she had earlier said, ''Yes, I was working for the special clients of Fame, the multiplex chain. Bharat and Dorris, the noted stylists, spotted me after some months and got me enrolled in Miss India, and, though I had taken them lightly in the beginning, I won. I was working with Fame, because I wanted to earn while I was doing my MBA here.
''My ambitions were simple — like becoming a manager in a pharmaceutical company maybe. I am a people’s person, and the corporate ‘keeda’ remains, so I might try my hand even now at becoming a wedding planner!,'' she added.
