A very compelling yet beautiful day in Valentine’s week, Promise day is that day when you take a step further in your relationship by promising his/her that you will do anything in your power to tighten the knot in your relationship. Be it a simple, ‘I will take care of you forever’, or ‘I’ll love you forever’, Promise day brings about a warmth in your relationship you can find comfort in. In willing to be ‘committed’ to someone, you promise his/her to be through every thick and thin, which, sadly has not been very much the case of late. But, if you are one among those ‘I’m a man/woman of my word’, here are few promises you can make to your other-half this promise day:
Making ‘Us’ the priority: In many cases, relationships crumble because they make it ‘I’ and ‘You’ matter, by promising to make ‘us’ a priority, you are willing to see the two of two together as a team in every ups and downs.
Promising to keep things Exciting: Lets all face it, relationships see the ugly side when the excitement or spark that was at the initial phase of the relationship fades. This is not because, the spark has faded, this is rather because, both of you have started to take each other for granted. Do the things that you both do in the beginning and ‘forever after’ becomes not just a phase.
Promising your partner that you’ll be there trough tough times: It is not without utmost importance that two people, while sharing their wedding vows say, ‘for better or worse, for richer or poorer and in sickness and in health’. That does not however mean that the beautiful promise must only be uttered on your D-day, make every day your D-day instead by living with the vow.
Promising to keep his/her past the past: A very common mistake everyone is guilty of-bringing up the past! Unless your other half was a convict or have murdered someone in the past, keep his/her past the past. Promise him/her that you will not dig up the past that may sometimes change his/her opinion about you.
I promise to ‘show’ you off to my friends and families: You know you are with the deal when he/she is not afraid to show you off. Introducing his/her to his/her friends and families can only mean he/she is accepting you to be part of his/her life, which can only mean your person is serious about you.
