Agra:

A sand-sculpted black Taj Mahal will surprise the tourists visiting the city this Valentine’s Day.

Internationally acclaimed sand artist, Sudershan Patnaik has built a black Taj Mahal of sand at the Taj Nature Walk, 500 metres from the world heritage monument Taj Mahal.

“UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav who will be coming to Agra tomorrow to give away the prizes of ‘Mera Agra competition’ will unveil the model of Taj Mahal,” Patnaik said.

According to historical records, Mughal emperor Shah Jahan wanted to build a black replica of the white Taj Mahal on the other side of Yamuna to house his tomb but his dream remained unfulfilled.

Patnaik has added the figures of Shah Jahan and Mumtaj Mahal to make Valentine’s Day special.

The artist has also created a sand model of the World Cricket Cup to wish good luck to Indian cricket team.
