New Delhi :

Taylor Swift who is known for being not-so-subtle when it comes to exposing ex-lovers has pulled the TayTay stunt once again in new song ‘Cruel Summer’ for album ‘Lover’. The singer who briefly dated Loki star Tom Hiddleston in 2016 after calling it quits with Calvin Harris in her new song writes that she was falling for now boyfriend Joe Alwyn, who she also met at the 2016 Met Gala.

‘’I don’t want to keep secrets just to keep you, snuck in through the garden gate every night that summer just to seal my fate.” Hinting that that she was only able to be with Joe because she was keeping whatever relationship they had a “secret” during that summer together, she sings “I scream for whatever it’s worth, ‘I love you’ ain’t that the worst thing you ever heard.”

TayTay’s feelings for Joe had in fact slowly been picking up bread crumps since they crossed paths in 2016.  After meeting Joe, Swift in her 2016 song “Paper Rings’’ made a very cryptic message about her feelings for Joe,

“I hate accidents, except when we went from friends to this,” she sings in the chorus.

As for Tom, he had been keeping low ever since the huge outburst with the short stint with Taylor Swift. In fact, Tom’s decision to lay low about his personal space is so much that a journalist was even advised not to ask the British actor about his famous Ex for his new Broadway play, Betrayal.

However, Tom did open up about public perceptions of him and the unforeseen attention and fame that ensued over the short yet high-profile romance at the time.

'It's not possible, and nor should it be possible, to control what anyone thinks about you,' he told the newspaper. 'Especially if it's not based in any reality.'

'I'm protective about my internal world now in probably a different way, he says. 'That’s because I didn't realise it needed protecting before’ Tom added.
