Pune:

Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Tuesday released a book penned by noted Marathi satirist Ramdas Phutane which highlights inconsistencies and ironies of social and political life in the country.

Lauding the writing, Shinde said the book, `Mook Samvad', (speechless dialogue) would prompt the reader to introspect on the social ills plaguing the country and bring awareness about finding solutions.

"The power of words is more than that wielded by politicians," the Congress leader added.

Phutane, whose parodies called "Vatratika" are popular with Marathi readers, said there was an unrest in the minds of the people about the state of affairs in the country and politicians which finds an expression in the work.
