If you have not cried ‘ugly-cry’ either by reading Cecelia Ahern’s P.S I Love You or the movie starring Hillary Swank and Gerard Butler, then we don’t know what will! The international bestseller book about a widow who finds letters from her late husband set against the backdrop of Dublin, Ireland has every paraphernalia of a ‘climaxing’ love story. So, for the hardcore romantics, there is a box of good news because after 15 years since its first book release, P.S I Love You is getting a sequel!

Author Cecelia Ahern has announced on Twitter that she’s written a sequel to everyone’s favourite onion-cutter, P.S. I Love You. Ahern posted the words, “I have BIG NEWS! I’ve written the sequel to PS I LOVE YOU – titled POSTSCRIPT. POSTSCRIPT will be published September 19th in the UK & Ireland. I hope you’ll welcome back Holly… & Gerry…& that reading it will be as emotional for you as it was for me.”

Talking about the sequel Ahern said in a statement as per Entertainment Weekly, “A deeply emotional project for me, Postscript is the PS to my PS and while it is a sequel, it is also a story that stands alone about living a purposeful life in the face of illness, grief and loss. I hope that new readers and PS, I Love You fans alike will embrace Holly’s new journey."

And with that, it is time to stockpile your tissues. Ahern first released the novel back in 2004, which follows happy married couple Holly and Gerry followed by the harsh reality when Gerry learns he has a brain tumour and dies, leaving Holly to pick up the pieces of their shattered life. What will the sequel Postscript, follow? Will be still be a story about Holly and Gerry or will it be about Holly finally finding a new life after Gerry, only time will tell.
