Mono Lake is one of those places that feels like nothing and everything at the same time. I’ve only had a chance to visit twice and the elusive snowy version is still in my hopes. . . #lightroomtutorials - this is a re-edit if a photo I took in 2016. Something never felt quite right and it turns out the photo was fine, but my editing style back then was not as mature as it is now. I’ve had very little time to travel or shoot lately, but it’s good to know that I can still find relaxation and joy in re-editing old photos like this. #monolaketufa #monolake #monocounty #monocountytourism #EarthPix #easternsierras #southbysouthwest #californiaadventure #getoutstayout #mytravelgram #travelingram #worldtravelpics #stayandwander #keepitwild #earthfocus #creativecloud_contrast #tonekillers #california
The Blue Lagoon of Buxton: The lake with its otherworldly blue glow caused by the limestone rocks surrounding the quarry draws masses of people to its bright waters every year, despite signs warning swimmers to stay away from the water body. Taking a dip in the bright turquoise a dip in the Blue Lagoon has in fact been known to be more toxic than going for a swim in a pond made of bleach.
Lake Kivu: Sitting on the border of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, this seemingly peaceful lake has layers of CO2 in it and 55 billion cubic meters of methane at the bottom making Lake Kivu the deadliest of three exploding lakes in the world.

Day 58🇷🇼 Lake Kivu (Kibuye). We took a quick trip to the sandy shores of lake Kivu which runs between Rwanda and the DRC. A very chilled afternoon bronzing followed by a buffet so bad it was almost genius. The pork was over cooked even by Charlie’s standards. Was it even pork?! #anotherbloodylakephoto #rwanda #lakekivu #kibuye #thegreatyearout
