In a major faux pas, Naeem ul Haque, the special assistant to Pakistan's PM Imran Khan, on Thursday posted Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar's photo on Twitter and captioned it as “PM Imran Khan 1969”.

Soon after Haque posted the picture, he was brutally trolled on Twitter.

The main meme target has been Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who has been trolled by Pakistani fans ever since Pakistan lost to Team India in their ICC World Cup clash on June 16. Images of the Pakistan captain yawning on the field even as India batsmen were going great guns went viral on social media, leading to severe backlash and trolling.

One fan tweeted the picture of a yawning baby and termed the photo as "Sarfaraz 1987".

One fan posted the childhood picture of Virat Kohli and captioned the photo as "Inzamam-ul-Haq 1976".

Another fan posted a picture of a scene from Bollywood movie Lagaan and captioned the picture as "Steve Smith in 1992".

One Twitter user posted the picture of Pakistan batsmen Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan and captioned the post as "Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli 1982".
