New Delhi:
Various experiments have been conducted in the past to boost milk production, like playing classical music or installing dim lights, but this time poultry scientists have done the unbelievable for the same. Cows were subjected to a cinematic experience to lift their mood and to make them produce better quality and more milk.
A Russian dairy farm, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, tested virtual reality glasses on cows in an attempt to calm and motivate them to produce more milk.
A team of developers, assisted by consultants and veterinarians, made cows wear custom made modified large-sized virtual reality glasses to make them visualise a summer field to improve their mood.
According to a CNN report, the experiment was based on the theory that a cow’s environmental conditions play a major role in the amount of milk produced.
A couple of photos released by the ministry, show the cows wearing the 3D reality glasses but
Meanwhile, Twitter had mixed reaction for these extremely creative experiment. Here’s how people reacted to the Russian experiment:
So apparently Russian farmers are strapping VR headsets to cows so they can experience a happier, more beautiful looking pasture, instead of bleak gray Russia. We are the aliens from the Matrix. Cow Neo will rise.

The scientists however has not informed if the milk production increased due to the experiment, but the Russian government claimed that the experiment resulted in decreased anxiety and improved the emotional mood of the herd.
