Why bother with sniffer dogs when there are some criminals who have gases bloated up in the stomach? Probably re-do the food habits before committing a crime, maybe? In one of those rofl instances where a criminal gives away their hiding spots to polices, a criminal made the job of the police way too simple with a loud fart.
Liberty Police Department, Missouri were searching for a person wanted for possession of a controlled substance when they came across a house where they believed the criminal was hiding out. The supposed-to-be search however ended when the suspect after farted too loudly, giving away the hiding spot.
A spokesperson for Clay County Sheriff's Office confirmed the story on the force's Facebook page.
"If you've got a felony warrant for your arrest, the cops are looking for you and you pass gas so loud it gives up your hiding spot, you're definitely having a sh** day."
"We've gotta give props to Liberty PD for using their senses to sniff him out!" the Facebook post read.
Local residents were quick to praise police for their unique policing techniques and incredible sense of humour.
"Thank you, Clay County, Missouri Sheriff I have worked with a lot of them over the last 17 years and they are all great guys. Thank you for all you do’’ one person wrote.
"Your Department deserves an award for Post of the year and everyone involved in this incident deserves hazard pay, especially that poor Dog. Thanks your entire Department of Brave First Responders’’ another wrote.
Talking about criminals doing the work for the police, just last week an accused was caught after he fell right on top of the police where he was hiding out in the attic.
