A newly opened restaurant in Kerala’s Kannur district will be one of the first restaurant in Kerala where robots will do the job of waiters. The new outlet named Be@Kiwizo will see Aleena, Helen and Jane, the unconventional waitresses’ serving the customers in the restaurant. These robots will offer menu card to the customers and record their choice of food. After taking the order and taking it to the restaurant kitchen, the same robot will serve the food to the designated table.
These robots will be moving through a designated path and would speak in English with the customers. Apart from the three robot waitresses, one more robot will be present to entertain the kids in the restaurant. This small robot will dance and sing with the kids and can also accompany them to the washroom by holding their hands.
The owner of the restaurant is Malayalam industry actor-producer, Maniyan Pillai Raju, and a few other investors. Speaking at the launch of the restaurant, Maniyan Pilla Raju said, ''This is an effort to bring technology and food industry closer. People come to the restaurant not just to have food, but also to spend some good time. I believe these efforts will enhance that experience.''
This restaurant can serve 100 guests at a time. Also, a traditional Kerala Bakery, run by 10 women has also been opened in the restaurant premises.
