It’s payback time for Grammar aficionado Shashi Tharoor. The politician who made known to us decorative English words like ‘farrago’ this time, is at the receiving end of trolls ironically to a troll which he started. The Twitter troll war all started when Tharoor took notice of the a food chain in Ahmedabad called ‘Appitto 9’ which had opened its outlet in Kochi lately. Taking it to Twitter, not for the good food but for the ‘hilarious consequence’ of North Indians’ ignorance of South’, Tharoor tweeted, ‘’ The hilarious consequences of most North Indians’ ignorance of Southern languages! Popular restaurant chain in Ahmadabad recently opened its outlet in Kochi. But the hotel is struggling to find patrons. If they asked a Malayalam-speaker, they would understand why!’’
For Tharoor this time, he forgot to rego through the spelling of the city of which he is trolling. And the eagle-eyed Twitterati has of course, wasted no time to pin-point the unchecked ‘Ahmadabad’ spelling, which everyone knows is ‘Ahmedabad’!
