New Delhi:

Can comedians sometimes hide their racist, sexist, xenophobic sides all in the name of ‘comedy’? South African comedian and TV show host, Trevor Noah, has come under fire of criticism with his latest remark on the Indo-Pak tensions and taking a dig at Indian culture. The comedian, who decided to make the audience have a ‘good laugh’ had himself have the gun point on him when Noah, who expressed that ‘India and Pakistan don't go to war’, also let a tongue-slip when he said, "’Hope Indian and Pakistan don't go to war. But if they did go to war, it would probably be the most entertaining war of all time, yeah’’.

Not only was his joke on the ‘sensitive issue’ seen as ‘distasteful’ by many, his imitation of the stereotypical Indian Accent Noah was also criticised as being racist. His joke can also be seen taking a subtle dig at the Indian culture, such as the songs and dances. The video, like all controversial videos went viral and Twitters have wasted no time to call the comedian names.

Actor Richa Chadha also took to her Twitter account to express her disapproval for the stereotypical remark, she tweeted, ‘’ Hey @Trevornoah ! Speaking of stereotypes, try rapping next time you talk about #BlackLivesMatter or is black > brown."

His video unsurprisingly has been flooded with criticisms calling out the comedian ‘racist’, ‘insensitive’, and ‘utter stupidity’.
