A video showing a Mumbai street food vendor using toilet water from Borivali railway station to prepare food has gone viral on social media. The video prompted Food and Drug Administration (FDA) launch an investigation.
In the viral video, the street vendor who runs a small idli stall near the Borivali railway station is seeing fetching water from the tap of a toilet. The water was supposed to be used to prepare the chutney served with the south Indian dish.

"The video has come to our knowledge. We will conduct an enquiry against him as well as others who use such methods to do business. Such water is not healthy for consumption. People may get affected,†ANI quoted Shailesh Adhav, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Mumbai, as saying.
Although, the 45-second-long video didn't affirm the time and date of the incident and FDA authorities would have to probe further to ascertain more facts, following which action would be taken agains the vendor.
"We have seen the video. We have to check what place the video was shot at. Action as necessary will be taken after the probe," the FDA official said. The FDA has already issued a public warning against using water which could be contaminated.
