A video is currently going viral on the internet which shows a robber stealing a woman's money inside an ATM but soon after, he returns the money after checking her low bank balance. The incident took place in China and was caught on surveillance cameras. According to the Shanghaiist, a CCTV footage from ICBC Bank in city of Heyuan shows a woman withdrawing cash from the ATM.
A man with a knife comes up behind her. The woman identified as Li, hands over the 2,500 yuan she had just withdrawn. The robber demands to see her account balance and realising that she has abysmally low bank balance, he returns the money. Footage shows him smiling as he hands her money back and leaves.However, the robbers act of kindness didn't save him from the police and he was later detained by them. However, the incident inspired a ton of jokes, and some sympathy for the unidentified robber.
"If he sees my bank account he will cry and give me his own money and knife and jacket...." laughed one commenter. "He's a good man," said another.
