Since last few years, entertainment has moved on to mobile phones and web-series is the by-product of the same revolution. There are several YouTube channels and online video on demand services available in India which features number of web-series. Some of them receive huge popularity while some go completely unnoticed. Recently, a web-series ‘Sacred Games’ starring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte was released on Netflix which has grab eyeballs of many and is becoming one of the most popular web-series of the year. TVF Pitchers – The Viral Fever’s (TVF) released ‘Pitchers’ in the year 2015 which was based on the life of four young professionals who plan to quit their job and follow their entrepreneurship dream. The series was a huge success and can only be viewed on TVF Play website.
Permanent Roommates – Another TVF’s web-series which was specifically popular amongst the viewers of young generation. The story of the web-series was based on the life of a couple who after three of long distance relationship decides to live-in and how somehow the prospects of their marriage awaits for them. It was a hugely popular series and the second season was also soon released.
Man’s World – YFilm’s released a series titled ‘Man’s World’ which features a life of a guy whose life is turned upside down as he now lives in a world where women are the dominating gender.
Bang Baaja Baarat – The story of the series revolves around a couple whose decision to get married turns their life upside down when they cannot cope up with the family pressure. It received huge accolades from the audience on the internet.
A.I.SHA – Bankrolled under the production house owned by Roadies fame Raghu Ram, A.I.SHA is a science fiction web series based on a story of a web developer and an Artificial Intelligence system created by him.
Baked – Produced by Pechkas Pictures and ScoopWhoop Talkies, Baked is about three Delhi University flatmates who decides to start a midnight food delivery service.
Chinese Basad – Exclusively available on VOOT, Chinese Bhasad is about a Lucknow boy and a Chinese girl who fall in love and decides to marry but boy’s grandfather hates China they backstabbed India and declared a war in 1962.
Shaadi Boys – Another VOOT exclusive, Shaadi Boys is about three friends who are in a wedding business and gets a contract for a Big Fat Indian wedding but their way to deal with all the struggles in a funny and different way is a must watch.
