Ekta Kapoor is known for producing famous daily soap operas and television series, has also produced many films under her production house ‘Balaji Motion Pictures’. She has produced variety of films including various genre like comedy, horror, thriller and many more. She is even part of latest release ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ as a presenter and film distributor. Ever since, she has left no stone unturned to promote the film.
Produced by Prakash Jha, ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ has generated all the noise which a film needs ahead of its release. The flick features Konkana Sen Sharma and Ratna Pathak Shah in the lead roles. Ahead of the release of the film, she explained on being a part of the film, “I wanted to do it! I saw the film, I liked it. I didn’t think I would like it so much. I’m not much of a torch bearer for art films. So maybe I have not given them a chance. But mostly I have seen movies that are pretentious, they lack entertainment,” she said.
“But when I saw this movie, it was after a long time that I came across a very bold but very strangely questioning film. It was entertaining and very exclusive. At any point you never felt as if these were people you never knew. You would always feel a part of the movie.’’

Shootout at Lokhandwala: It is a 2007 Indian action crime film directed by Apoorva Lakhia. It is based upon the 1991 Lokhandwala Complex shootout, a real-life gun battle between gangsters and Mumbai Police. The film sparked much controversy regarding the fictionalised portrayal of the incident.
Ragini MMS: It is a 2011 Indian found footage horror film directed by Pawan Kripalani and produced by Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms. The film is inspired by the 2007 American supernatural horror film Paranormal Activity and is partly based on the real story of a girl from Delhi named Deepika.
The Dirty Picture: It is a 2011 Indian biographical musical drama film inspired by the life of Silk Smitha, a South Indian actress noted for her erotic roles. It also resembles the personal lives of other women in popular culture, including Hollywood actress and sex symbol Marilyn Monroe.
Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai: The film depicts the growth of the Mumbai underworld, from crime and smuggling in its early stages to its connection with international terrorism in recent times. It is believed to be based on the lives of real-life gangsters Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim, portrayed by the characters Sultan and Shoaib, respectively.
Kya Kool Hai Hum: With this film Ekta Kapoor introduced adult comedy in the Bollywood and was the film was also a commercial success. The film also spawned two sequels, Kya Super Kool Hai Hum and Kya Kool Hai Hum 3
