Kai Po Che
Rajkummar's first major commercial success came in with Abhishek Kapoor's 'Kai Po Che'. Although Sushant Singh Rajput took away all the love with his debut, Rajkummar's performance as an ambitious small-town geek went unnoticed.
Queen
After playing intense characters, Rao went on to play a conservative city slicker in 'Queen' opposite Kangana Ranaut. While the film was all about Rani and her liberation, Rajkummar's Vijay held his own ground and gave a memorable performance in just a few scenes.
Trapped
A film with just one character trapped inside a flat is a difficult story to narrate. There are no dialogues and there is limited space in which the actor is confined yet then Rao’s performance makes you uneasy, helpless, his performance makes you smile when the rains come in, his performance makes you chuckle at his conversation with a rat, his sole companion in the flat.
Omerta
In perhaps his most antagonistic portrayal, Rao is absolutely chilling as the terrorist mastermind Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh. This is particularly evident in the climax of the film, when Omar hacks journalist Daniel Pearl to death, with this depiction of his atrocity shown through what we see in his eyes.
Aligarh
Rao doesn’t think twice about doing risky roles. Be it playing a transgender or becoming a part of Aligarh – a film which dealt with a sensitive topic homosexuality, Rajkummar has done it all with absolutely no regrets whatsoever.
Judgementall Hai Kya
Rajkummar Rao's last Bollywood outing gathered all the attention around Kangana but Rajkummar Rao performance is so good and convincing that finally when the reality is out you don't know how to react at the nerve-wrecking climax. Your sympathies constantly shift from Bobby to Keshav, throwing us into constant moral conflict until the film’s graphic, violent final act, when things come into sharp focus.
