Happy Birthday Subhash Ghai: Five films which made him ‘The Showman’

Bollywood’s veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai is celebrating his 73rd birthday on Thursday. He is known for giving several new faces into the Hindi cinema and multiple chartbusters including Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai. Born on January 24, 1945 in Nagpur, Subhash Ghai is also known as the ‘Showman’ of Bollywood. On the occasion of his birthday, we listed down some of the all-time blockbusters films of the director which made him the ‘Showman’
Karz – Helmed by Subhash Ghai, the thriller film was praised by both the audience and critics as well. Karz featured Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim, Simi Garewal, Raj Kiran, Pran and Mac Mohan in pivotal roles.
Vidhaata – Dilip Kumar, Shammi Kapoor starrer Vidhaata was one of the highest grossing film of the year 1982. The movie also featured Sanjay Dutt, Padmini Kolhapure, Amrish Puri and Sarika in significant roles.
Karma – Subhahs Ghai another big success came with Dilip Kumar starrer 1986 flick ‘Karma’. The movie also market the first film when DIlip Kumar and Nutan were paired opposite each other. ‘Karma’ was a huge commercial success and also featured Naseeruddin Shah, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Sridevi and Poonam Dhillon in important roles.
Ram Lakhan – Subhash Ghai took a gap of three years after ‘Karma’ but the wait was totally worth it. In the year 1989, Anil Kapoor starrer ‘Ram Lakhan’ was released which became a huge success at the box office.
Saudagar – After the gap of two years, Subhash Ghai came with Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar starrer ‘Saudagar’. The movie went on to become a Silver Jubilee success all over India and was a huge commercial success.
