Miss World India, Suman Rao is all set to represent India for the Miss World beauty contest in London. The Miss World 2019 pageant will be held in ExCeL London in the United Kingdom on 14 December 2019. She has already competed in the head-to-head competition and beauty with a purpose segment. Suman Rao was born on November 23, 1999 and belongs to Aaidana village that is located near Udaipur, Rajasthan. Her childhood was spent in New Mumbai and she did her schooling at Mahatma School of Academics and Sports.
Women empowerment is extremely important to Suman. She began Project Pragati' under Miss India's Beauty With A Purpose program.
Suman Rao Idolises her mother. She wrote on Instagram dedicating her Miss India crown to her mother, "I feel blessed to be parented by such a dynamic woman, who despite all odds she faced in our community, still supported me to choose my own path and follow my dream!"
Suman Rao is also a trained Kathak dancer.
During the Miss India pageant, Suman talked about gender inequality and the stereotypes that women face in the world. She said, "I come from a community where gender inequality and other stereotypes are still into existence, so when I saw two primary choices in front of me, to either accept the conditions those were in existence or to take the responsibility for changing the same, I chose the latter one.
