New Year is around the corner and it’s almost time for us to bid goodbye to 2018. The year, was undoubtedly an extremely eventful year when it comes to Hollywood films. It was marked by superb dramas, comedies and thrillers from established auteurs and promising newcomers. As we are set to enter into a New Year, here are the top 10 Hollywood films that you can’t afford to miss:

Black Panther: The cast of the film is phenomenal and the direction by talented Ryan Coobler is on point. The plot revolves around T’Challa (played by Chadwick Boseman ), who after the death of his father returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. The movie also features Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Andy Serkis and Martin Freeman.

A Quiet Place: What happens when a supernatural entity can’t hunt you unless it can hear you? Well, you stay completely quiet. Isn’t it? And so does the premise of the movie, which follows a family that has learned to stay fully silent in their home. The film stars real-life husband and wife Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. They have directed the movie as well.

Hereditary: After the family matriarch passes away, a grieving family is haunted by tragic and disturbing occurrences, and begin to unravel dark secrets. The film features Toni Collette, Milly Shappiro and Gabriel Byrne in vital roles.

A Wrinkle in Time: The film is based on the fantasy novel by Madeleine L'Engle. The story follows a young girl (Storm Reid) and her brother as they search their missing father who is trapped in a different astral plane. The film also features Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon.

Ocean’s 8: Debbie Ocean gathers a female crew to attempt an impossible heist at New York City's yearly Met Gala. The film is both a continuation and a spin-off from Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's trilogy and features an ensemble cast, including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Awkwafina.

Set It Up: Two assistants devise a grand plan to set up their bosses in order to have more free time to themselves in this low-commitment rom-com that has plenty of throwbacks to the genre. The film features Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell in vital roles.

BlacKkKlansman: The film revolves around Ron Stallworth, the first African-American detective in the Colorado Springs police department, who infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan in an undercover operation in the 1970s. The film stars John David Washington, Adam Driver, and Laura Harrier. Topher Grace plays Klan leader David Duke.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: The film is an adaption of Jenny Han’s bestselling novel of the same name. It is a heartwarming teen rom-com about a high school student who writes letters to her crushes without the intention of sending them. The film stars newcomer Lana Condor as Lara Jean Covey and your crush of 2018 yup, Noah Centineo, as one of her crushes, Peter Kavinsky.

Searching: John Cho (played by David Kim) plays a dad on a mission to find his missing teenage daughter in a film that mostly takes place on computer screens. The film was innovative and intriguing at the same time. The film was a financial and critical success, grossing over $75 million worldwide against a $1 million budget and received praise for its direction, acting, unique visual presentation and unpredictable storyline.

First man: La La Land director Damien Chazelle re-teams with Ryan Gosling, this time on a biopic about Neil Armstrong, the first man to land on the moon on July 20, 1969.. Gosling plays Neil Armstrong.
