Over a thousand students have been protesting near Jamia Millia Islamia area against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. In recent times, thousands, including students in multiple cities and towns across the country, have taken to the roads since last month to protest against the new citizenship law. A man opened fire during an anti-CAA protests right outside Jamia University in Delhi. The man was seen walking on the very road where the students were carrying out the protest march. “Kisko chahiye azaadi (who wants freedom),” the man was heard saying by the onlookers as saying.
