The BJP doubled its vote share in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Haryana as compared to its performance in 2009. The BJP, which won seven of the 10 Lok Sabha seats, managed to get a vote share of 34.7 per cent as compared to 17.21 per cent in 2009 when it failed to win any seat. The Congress, who was ruling at point of time, lost eight of the nine seats it had won in 2009 and saw its vote share declining to 22.9 per cent as compared to 41.77 per cent five years back. The INLD, which won two seats in 2009, increased its vote share to 24.4 per cent from 15.78 per cent in 2009 when it lost all the five seats it contested. With 2019 Lok Sabha polls around the corner, it would be interesting how the ruling government performs this time.

According to the News Nation Opinion Poll, 39 per cent of the people feel that Narendra Modi is the most favourable prime ministerial candidate in 2019 Lok Sabha poll whereas, 34 per cent of people want Rahul Gandhi to run the country.

As per the News Nation poll survey in the state, the BJP is projected to win 5 seats whereas the Congress may bag 3. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) may win one seat each in 2019 General Elections.

As far as the vote share is concerned, the BJP is likely to get 30 per cent of vote share, the Congress may get 29 per cent of votes, the INLD is likely to secure 15 per cent of vote share while the newly-formed JJP to get 12 per cent of votes, predicted News Nation Opinion Poll.

When asked about the biggest issue which they will keep in mind while voting for Lok Sabha Elections, 20 per cent people voted for inflation. Corruption (16 per cent), employment (15 per cent) and basic infrastructure (8 per cent) are some other important issues which people of the state will consider at the time of voting.

Most of the people (44 per cent) in the state feel that government's decision to reserve 10% of seats for the general category poor will benefit the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. But 32 per cent believe that it won't help the party.
