Day after mega roadshow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed nomination from Varanasi for the Lok Sabha Elections today. In a show of strength, almost all major NDA leaders were present during the nomination at Kachari. In Lok Sabha Polls 2014, PM Modi had won Varanasi Lok Sabha seat with a huge margin of 3.37 lakh votes. Congress party’s Ajai Rai and Samajwadi Party’s Shalini Yadav are the candidates PM Modi is contesting against. Top brass of the NDA, including Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal-United (JD-U) president Nitish Kumar, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) founder Prakash Singh Badal and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan among others rallied behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi after filing nomination papers from Varanasi parliamentary constituency said, “I urge all people to cast their vote. This is a festival of democracy. People are making this atmosphere that 'Modi jeet gaya' but don't go by it and cast your vote for a strong country and government.”
I have a wish that I was not able to fulfil from Gujarat. Can Banaras fulfil this wish? I want the women to win the voting turnout. There should be at least 5% increase in women voting percentage: PM Modi to party workers.
I am thankful for the love I have got. They have been blessing me since yesterday just the way they did 5 years ago: PM Modi
