Modi in Bishkek: At SCO Summit in Kyrgyzstan, PM's tough talks on terror

In a veiled attack on Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that countries sponsoring, aiding and funding terrorism must be held accountable as he called for a global conference to combat the menace. Addressing the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, Modi highlighted the spirit and ideals of the SCO to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism. Earlier on Thursday, Modi held talks with several world leaders, including Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin. The prime minister said he had an 'extremely fruitful' meeting with Jinping during which the duo vowed to work together to improve the economic and cultural ties. With Ghani, Modi discussed about the role played by India towards an inclusive peace process in conflict-hit Afghanistan. Putin, on the other hand, talked about all aspects of bilateral relations to further boost the strategic relationship between India and Russia.
