It was on a Wednesday night on November 26, 2008, ten terrorists entered into the financial capital of India causing massive mayhem. The ten men who entered Mumbai through the sea route were armed with weapons and ammunition and had plans to carry attacks in several key places in the city. The Mumbai terror attacks were carried by members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, an Islamic militant organisation based in Pakistan. The terrorists carried out a series of attacks that lasted for the four days killing 164 people and leaving at least 308 injured. The terrorists showed no mercy and barged into railway station hotels, various buildings and created a hostage situation. The entire country was completely shaken by the gruesome terror attacks.

The terrorists were on a mission to cause maximum damage and take as many lives as possible. The main target of the terrorists was Hotel Taj which was held hostage for 58 straight hours. The dome of the hotel was set on fire with the help of grenades.

The terrorists were firing from the first floor corner room in the old wing of Taj Palace. It were our daring commandos who used grenade launcher to destroy the windows and set the people free.

Though the entire focus was on Hotel Taj, terrorists also attacked Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus 'CST' railway station. It was Mohammed Ajmal Kasab and Ismail Khan who started firing indiscriminately into the crowds. About 60 people were killed in the massive attacks launched by the two LeT terrorists.

The CCTV cameras gave us the images of terrorists who entered the CST railway station from Gate number 1. It was Ajmal Amir Kasab who was the only terrorist caught alive by Police.

The Leopold Cafe, which is a popular restaurant and bar in South Mumbai was also attacked by the terrorists. In fact, it was one of the first sites which faced ferocious attacks. Two terrorists opened fire on the cafe which ended up killing at least 10 people and injuring many more.

The terrorists also stormed inside the Trident hotel on November 26 and opened up fire. The maximum destruction was caused in the two restaurant- Kandahar and Tiffin. About 30 people were gunned down by the terrorists who showed no remorse at all. It was Mumbai Police's Rapid Action Force who took charge and killed the two terrorists who held people hostage inside the Trident-Oberoi in Mumbai.

The Nariman House siege revealed how the terrorist wanted to not only hurt Indian citizens but also tell the world that they are ready to sought revenge from the people who hurt their Palestinian brothers. The terrorists wanted to attack the Jews in India and hence planned the gruesome attack at Nariman House. A team of 20 commandos rescued the hostages who were tortured by the terrorists. The commandos were airdropped as the terrorists destroyed the opening of the gates.
